Patience Omokhodion is a partner at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP in the Financial Services Group. She works on all types of secured and unsecured lending transactions, including cross-border transactions, project financings, public-private partnership transactions and joint venture. She represents both lenders and borrowers. Patience has a growing aviation finance practice. Her practice is both national and international.
Patience is of Nigerian descent and grew up in the United Kingdom. She obtained her LL.B. and attended law school in the UK. Before joining Cassels Brock, Patience practised at an international law firm in London, England. She has qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and, after completing the NCA process, has been called to the bar in Ontario.
Patience is a contributing author to various legal books and articles, including the Carswell text Project Finance in Canada and the LexisNexis text Equipment Financing in Canada.
Patience is passionate about charitable and community work. She has spent many months working with charities and not-for-profits in order to improve access to justice and to provide community legal education. Patience is also a keen mentor of students seeking to pursue legal careers. She is a member of Cassels Brock’s Practice Excellence Committee, which focuses on the associates’ career development, retention, and wellness.
Patience was honoured as one of the legal industry’s Lexpert Rising Stars for 2018 for leading lawyers under 40.
